Privacy Policy

The short version: Tape doesn't have your data. There is nothing to share, sell, or lose.

Effective date: August 1, 2026  ·  Tape is provided by Ozar.io · Applies to Tape for iOS, version 1.0 and later

In one line: Tape has no account, no bank connection and no server. Your spending history never leaves your device — the App Store privacy label reads Data Not Collected.

1. Overview

Tape is a private money assistant built by Ozar.io. Privacy is structural, not a policy: the app is designed so that we — the developers — have no technical way to see, receive, or store anything you put into it. There is no account system, no bank login, and no cloud component of any kind.

2. Data we collect

We collect no personal data. Specifically:

  • No account data. There is no sign-up, so there is no identifier tied to you — no email, no password, no username.
  • No bank data. Tape never connects to a bank or financial institution. There is nothing to sync and nothing to breach.
  • No usage analytics. Tape does not track how you use the app.
  • No crash reports. We do not receive crash logs or diagnostics.
  • No advertising identifiers. There are no ads and no ad SDKs, so nothing is read or shared for advertising.
  • No spending data transmitted. Entries, transcripts, receipts and budgets never leave your device.

3. What stays on your device

Everything you create in Tape is stored locally on your iPhone in encrypted on-device storage:

  • Your spoken entries and their transcripts;
  • Your tape of transactions and categories;
  • Receipt photos you scan — the image is encrypted on the device before it is read;
  • Budgets, envelopes and insight history.

Tape's language understanding also runs entirely on-device, on your iPhone's own chip. Nothing is sent to a cloud model.

4. Network and analytics

Tape makes no analytics or tracking network calls. The only network activity in the app is the App Store's own, plus one optional, user-initiated voice-model download that you explicitly choose to start. Tape works in airplane mode — permanently.

5. Third parties

Tape contains no third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking software development kits. Because nothing leaves your device, no third party receives data from Tape. An optional Face ID lock (if you enable it) is handled entirely by iOS on your device.

6. Your controls

  • One-tap CSV export. Every transaction exports to a CSV file on your device — your data leaves whenever you want it to.
  • Delete entries. Any row on the tape can be edited or deleted at any time.
  • Face ID lock. Optional, off by default.
  • Delete the app. Uninstalling Tape removes its local data store from your device.

7. Children

Tape does not collect personal information from anyone, including children. Because the app has no data collection, no special restrictions are needed beyond the standard guidance that minors should use the app with a parent or guardian.

8. Changes to this policy

If this policy ever changes — for example, if a future version of Tape adds any capability that touches your data — we will update this page and note the change in the app. This policy will always say plainly what the app does.
